School African drumming workshop at Reignhead School Sheffield - Thank you cards from children
Another successful African Drumming workshop booked and organised at the last minute. This time it was Reignhead Community Primary School in Sheffield and we got some great feedback. It's always wonderful to get a nice testimonial. With Reignhead Community Primary School we got dozens and dozens of them and they were of the best variety - all the KS1 children wrote us thank you cards with fantastic drawings. Altogether there were about 60 different artistic interpretations of Jon Weaver who lead the workshops - some are more flattering than others! What the very young children couldn't express in writing they really make up for in their drawings which clearly show the excitement and enthusiasm that the drumming created for them! Here is what school teacher Amanda Loyd had to say about the day:
''I wanted to take the time to say a big thank you for Jon coming in to our school and running such an amazing workshop and to you for all your organising and time. I wish I could have been there, but know so much about it from the children and the staff. Their love of drums has continued and we will keep building on the spark you ignited. The children have all written you some cards which I will post on Monday. Once again it was a fantastic experience for our children. Jon was fantastic; completely at every child's level, professional, experienced, enthusiastic and engaged with all the children. We are grateful to you for providing them such an inspiring and excellent educational experience. Best wishes to you both and I hope we'll be able to work with you again soon.''
We are looking forward to more African Drumming workshops in Derbyshire, Staffordshire and South Yorkshire schools next term and many of these workshops will coincide with Black History Month.
