African Drumming in the North West
Last month’s African Drumming workshop at Norbreck Academy in Blackpool was an absolute ball! As the dance element of our African Drumming workshops develops further we see more and more children coming out of their shells and through movement, expressing through their joy of the pounding African beats of the drums. Here is a wonderful example of how drumming and dance can build confidence in children:
''What a thoroughly enjoyable day! The children had a fabulous time! One child, who is generally quiet and reserved, really surprised me with her confidence and enthusiasm towards the session. She volunteered to dance a solo dance for the whole class. She danced with passion and she was filled with excitement. It was so nice to see her come out of her shell and show such expression. Thank you.''
