African Drumming & Dance Workshops For Schools
The African Music Experience workshop combines the hands-on playing of African Djembe drums with the excitement of African Dance.
African Drumming Workshops
These workshops are an exciting hands-on opportunity for children of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to experience the thrill and excitement of African hand drumming. Everyone in a class will be given an authentic African drum to participate in an unforgettable group experience – an experience which provides an insight into the sounds, beats and energy of an African village and tribal life.
African Music Experience
The African Music Experience workshop combines the hands-on playing of African Djembe drums with the excitement of African Dance. We provide a drum for every child in a class to experience the sounds and beats of West Africa and ensure that every child is on their feet and dancing throughout the day! By combining traditional rhythms with dance, the workshop seeks to create the sound and atmosphere of an African village event, while also giving children a boost of confidence; a sense of achievement and a fun way to develop social skills such as listening, leadership and working in teams.
Designing Drumming Content For Young Children
Our workshops are tailored to suit all ages and abilities, from KS1 to KS3 and beyond. This includes adapting workshops to the abilities and attention levels of very young children in EYFS classes, keeping them engaged through fun drumming games that help them understand the importance of spaces and dialogue in group drumming.
